The Gun of the Week this time around is the CZ-27, an excellent .32 caliber semi-automatic pistol.
The CZ-27 is a very well made piece of equipment, as is pretty much all of the CZ hardware. It is more correctly known as the vz. 27, for vzor 27 or Model 27 in Czech.
The pistol is a simplification of the early Model 22 and 24 pistols designed by Mauser. Production continued into the 1950s and more than 600,000 in total were produced. Over 450,000 were produced under German occupation during WW II.
The weapon weighs 24 ounces with an empty magazine, is 6.1 inches in length, not quite 5 inches tall and has a barrel length of 3.9 inches. It is a .32 caliber only and is therefore a straight blowback pistol, feeding from an 8 round magazine.
The sights are pretty basic military sights. It is a hammer fired single action weapon with a manual thumb safety and an American style magazine release.
